This is a lifelong commitment and I promise to care for and go through the journey of life with my new companion. I will provide medical care, proper training, and a loving home for the duration of my newly adopted dogs lifespan.

I agree to provide proper and sufficient food, water, shelter and kind treatment for this Great Pyrenees at all times. I shall provide for adequate and complete grooming for this Pyrenees, not allowing his/her fur to become matted or to be otherwise uncared for. I will provide a balanced diet, exercise, identification (name tag w/phone # as a minimum) immediately upon receipt of the above named Great Pyrenees, and will license this animal as required by law, including the transfer of the rabies tag (if provided) to my name and residence address,all at my own expense.*

If my new companion is not spayed or neutered at the time of adoption I will provide Pyrescue with a deposit of no less than $125.00. This is divided into two parts, $75.00 dollars is an administration fee and the $50.00 is a state mandated deposit. The entire deposit is fully refundable once I provide a letter from my veterinary clinic stating that my animals has been sterilized, you have 90 days from the date of adoption to get this done and provide PYRescue with adequate proof of such sterilization. DUE DATE OF STERILIZATION: ______________________ If this is not completed by the either the 90-day period or the additional 30 day extension this animal may be reclaimed and the adopter(s) will not receive the deposit back and will be given to the Colorado Pet Overpopulation Fund (CPOF). I will read and follow the literature provided (or recommended) by PYRrescue, with particular attention to the care of the animal's teeth, ears, coat, claws, and dew claws.*

I agree to never us this animal for fighting, animal vivisection or experimentation, or other abusive practices. I will not give or sell this animal to any other person, company, or shelter/humane society without first having notified Great Pyrenees Rescue of the intended action and having received PYRescue approval. I also agree that PYRescue shall have first right of refusal for placement of the animal in the event that I must place this Great Pyrenees in a new home, including the return of the Great Pyrenees to PYRescue upon demand. Further, if, for any reason, I am not able to keep this Great Pyrenees I will return him/her to PYRescue as soon as possible. I agree that I will at no time assert any claim, charge, or demand of any kind against PYRescue, or any of it’s representatives, for expenses which may have been incurred by me, including veterinary fees, in conjunction with this animal.*

I understand that adoption of this Great Pyrenees is a commitment for the duration of it’s natural life. I will provide proper training and obedience classes for myself, family and the adopted Pyrenees. I also agree to never yell at, degrade, or hit my adopted Pyrenees. Knowing that Great Pyrenees can hold a grudge, are very sensitive and do not respond to negative training practices. Great Pyrenees rescue can provide a reference for a trainer that is familiar with this breed. I will not permit the animal to run at large and I agree to immediately retrieve it, at my own expense, from any animal shelter if notified the animal is being held there. I understand that Great Pyrenees will not always come when called. I agree to keep the animal in an enclosed, fully fenced yard area (when not in the house at all times and this fence should be maintained in good working order at all times.*

I promise to always transport my new companion within the laws of my county, state, or zoning laws. This includes Having a secured crate or seat-belt harness utilized at all times. I also promise to provide preventive, routine, and emergency medical care, I promise to keep proper housing for my companion, all this should be done by the Department of Agriculture Rules and Laws, along with being in compliance of any animal cruelty laws.*

I maintain that my family members and I do not suffer from allergies which would prohibit interaction with this animal. My family members are in agreement with this adoption. If I have children I know that children cannot hold primary responsibility for this animal; I will not allow any child to encourage the animal to bite and/or wrestle, or any other action which may lead to aggressive behavior on the part of the animal. I understand that obedience classes are important for my knowledge as well as for my newly adopted Great Pyrenees*

I agree that if the living conditions provided for the animal are reasonably considered unsuitable by a PYRescue representative, I will surrender the animal and that I will not be entitled to a refund of the adoption donation or other expenses related to the adoption. Pyrescue will retain ownership status of any adopted dog, I agree to surrender my dog only to Pyrescue and not sell, adopt or give away to any other party at any point in time except Pyrescue. If I do I will pay any expense incurred in the return of said dog. I agree to provide periodic updates to PYRescue on the animal’s physical and emotional state upon the request (mail, phone, or e-mail) of PYRescue at least every six months throughout the life of the animal. I further agree to notify PYRescue of any change in address or telephone number related to the physical location of this Great Pyrenees throughout it’s life.*

I hereby accept this animal as is, assuming all risk and liabilities of ownership of the animal, including the risk of injury or damage caused by the animal. I expressly understand that PYRescue places this animal with no warranty as to the physical condition or temperament of this Great Pyrenees and that I take him/her as is with all defects, either observable or unobservable, and assume full risk for him/her from the date of the signing of this adoption contract. I further agree to assume all irresponsibility for the animal’s actions after it is placed. I agree to indemnify and hold Great Pyrenees Rescue and any of its agents thereof, individually and collectively, harmless from any actions of this animal from the date of signing of this contract.*

It is understood that in the event the animal has not been voluntarily released to PYRescue by the previous owner, or if the animal was obtained by a licensed shelter, PYRescue cannot guarantee that is has absolute, free and clear title to the Great Pyrenees and that no claim of ownership will ever be made against the animal.
