Compassion Corner
We sometimes rescue Pyrs that are severely abused physically, mentally, or both. In some cases it can be accidental, in others it is intentional through neglect or poor ownership. We work with these unfortunate Pyrs and always attempt to turn them into the loving, happy dogs that they should have become. Most of the time, we are successful. Sometimes however, the Pyr is too sick or too abused to find a good home.
In the case of Jack, he was one such dog that came to love only us. He lived out the remaining years of his life with us at the rescue and was happy to be in a secure environment. His story can be read by following this link: Jack's Story
Molly was a six-month-old Great Pyrenees who loved anyone she came into contact with. She had a very rough start in life but was always willing to make friends. Molly was very sick when she came to us with double pneumonia . After pulling out all of the stops to help her, we finally had to do the right thing and put her to sleep. It is Pyrs such as Molly that break your heart when you know what a great part of a family she could have been. To keep Molly's memory alive, you can see her here: Molly
Kaylee is a beautiful 2-3 yr. old spayed female from Holden, MO that we just rescued in September of 2009. This poor girl was so matted & dirty that it took 3 people 4 hours to remove all the excess fur & barbed wire that was tangled in her coat. Once unable to lift her neck or tail she still radiated love and happiness. She loves other dogs and people and just bounces with joy. If you would like to see pictures of her amazing transformation, please follow this link: Kaylee
